I saw Beyonce and Jay Z in concert for FREE!

In April 2016, Bey & Jay launched their OTR Tour and my younger sister was initiated into our illustrious sorority. Of course, I chose to visit my sister for her initiation. Although I was happy with my decision to visit her instead of going to the concert, it was at that moment that I proclaimed the next time they toured, I'll be there. Now before this next part I'd just like to remind you of the power of your words. What you say can and will come true. Speak light, speak truth, speak positively.

Summer 2018, OTR II is in full swing. I just graduated from grad school and moved 1000 miles away from home without a job. Jay & Bey wouldn't have wanted me spending money on them knowing I didn't have a job so, I had come to terms with there being another OTR Tour and me missing out. But the universe had other plans!

I was volunteering with a local non profit at their 4 day weekend retreat for high school students, when my cousin text me and said his job had given him a ticket to the OTR Tour but, he couldn’t attend. I said no, I'm volunteering, helping students get college ready. Well a day later, my friend texted me and said: WYD Saturday? I said: You better not be asking me about this concert because I already told my cousin nah. Spoiler Alert: He was!

So I called my boy friend deliberated with him, and we both decided I should go. I had a pep talk with myself on my walk to speak with the program director. Shani, two years ago, you said you’d be at the next concert. This is your chance. Stop blocking your blessing. By the end of my pep talk I was facing the director and I said: So, I have a free ticket to see Beyonce and I won’t be attending the banquet Saturday night.” He said: Ok!

I enjoyed every moment of seeing Beyonce and Jay Z on stage. I was about to miss out on my free opportunity to see Queen Bey because I wasn’t ready to receive that blessing. What are you standing in the way of today? How many times does it have to show up before you say yes?

The universe was nice enough to give me two chances but the next time I may not get that. We have to be willing to accept our gifts when they come. Willing to accept what we asked for when it arrives. Whether it's a new career opportunity, house, car, relationship, you name it! Are you ready to receive all that you’ve manifested this year?
